Stage 4 Lisa was 3rd overall in the mediogiro!

Meanwhile, Lisa's having a great race and is bringing home the goods!

In all of my tribulations about my own race, I’ve failed to provide an update about Lisa. Lisa has been having a great race and is virtually guaranteed third place in her age category, which is 40+ in the medium-distance race. Apparently she was helped on the horrific second stage when a large portion of the women in her age category bailed out after making it around only one lap of the two lap course. As such they were given the time of the slowest women to finish both laps. Lisa, being the intrepid gal she is, finished both laps in a decent time. She has something like an hour lead over fourth place.

In fact, in the medio race she sits in third place for women overall! She has about a two minute lead to a younger gal. But Lisa is afraid this gal, who’s smaller besides younger, is a better climber. Lisa could lose time on the big climbs of stage 5.

In stage 4, Lisa was in the same group as this woman and beat her for third place on stage. Each evening, they give prizes for the overall winners for the day’s stage. With Lisa’s third place she was given three bottles of wine from Sardinia!
